Welcome!
For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for military history. It started with a childhood fascination with the detailed line drawings and illustrations in my father's military reference book collection. What began (to put it crudely) as a boy's interest with things that go boom matured into an appreciation that war brought out the best and worst in men.
From learning how to tell the difference between a T-34 and a PzKpfw IV by their silhouettes I graduated to reading about the men of that era, from Patton to Pyle, from generals to privates. The study of military history cannot be done in isolation from the social, cultural and political realities of the day that the conflicts were fought in.
I am a licenced tour guide with the Singapore Tourism Board who specialises in battlefield site visits and military history. This website is my little corner of the internet where I aim to share anything and everything about the Malayan Campaign and the Defence and Fall of Singapore. Due to it being a British colony that was defended by the armed forces of the Commonwealth and invaded and conquered by the Asian partner of the Axis powers, Singapore's place in World War 2 continues to be a subject of much discussion 80 years after the fact.
I do hope you enjoy your stay as you move around this website. Please do feel free to use the Contact Me button below if you wish to engage my guiding services or if you have any suggestions on improvements to any of the webpages.
